Hailing from the Detroit party scene in the U.S., Nasty Nate began messing around with music in the late 90's and started his professional career in 2004 when he founded Deep Blue Productions, an event production/promotion and artist management company that was based in Louisville, KY in the United States.
Residing in Shanghai, China from 2009-2019, he has played more venues, parties, festivals, radio shows, podcasts, and events around southeast Asia than he can remember, but notable amongst them are the Midi Electronic Music Festival, the Yin Yang Music Festival, literally every underground club in Shanghai, guest appearances in Thailand, Cambodia, Taiwan, and greater China, and multiple venues in the US and Canada.
Whereas most artists promote themselves as champions of a specific sound, Nate's strength lies in his love of all forms of underground electronic music and his long history rubbing shoulders with all walks of life within the industry. He is unflappably comfortable in any environment and using any equipment, from turntables to CDJs to controllers, performing anywhere from small rooms to giant clubs to rooftop pool parties to darkened basements, whether solo or alongside other artists.
Nasty Nate is a musical jack-of-all-trades, and his sets are remarkably unique. He not only excels at evoking a sense of nostalgia- often weaving songs that were once genre-defining but don't see current rotation into his mixes- but he is also a savant when it comes to digging up addictive, emotion-inducing tracks that no one else seems to have discovered.
